A way to start a healthy year is in our wallets: Avoiding financial stress may not be easy, but we can afford it (pun intended) by putting closer attention to our budgeting, and expenses. Here are three examples of expenses to watch out for, and manage money a little bit better:
1. Entertainment. Compare the expenses of cable TV with streaming subscriptions. Any of those options will give you TV shows for months! 2. Heating. It is cold outside, yes, but is it really necessary to keep the house temperature higher than 70 degrees? A cozy blanket on top of your flannel pj's watching a streaming show, reminding yourself you saved over $100 this month on cable TV sounds like a good plan! 3. Late Fees. Easy to avoid. If you do not pay your bills via auto debit form your account, take one day to look at all your bills, when they are due, and arrange at all possible to have them due around the same day every month. That way, you can sit down that day only, and pay them all at the same time. It will help you keep track of expenses, and allow you to budget for the upcoming months with more clarity. |
